Adjustable Cracking Pressure Check Valve

Flat film check valves are typically used to prevent back flow through a fluid circuit. In many cases, the exact cracking pressure of the valve is inconsequential. However, in applications where a more exacting cracking pressure is necessary - or needs to be adjusted - a more advanced design is required.

How it Works

The deformable thermoset plastic valve has four main parts, each with a different function but integrated into a single, molded part. By changing the preload on the valve, or modifying the baseline design, a different cracking pressure can be achieved. Flow rate can also be controlled by varying the size of the flow-through orifices. The valves are designed to work either in-line for connecting two fluid vessels, or as an over-pressure blow off valve.

Benefits

All valve functions are incorporated into a single, molded part, thus limiting both manufacturing cost and process risk. The valve can be used at a single cracking pressure, or over a range of pressures in either static or dynamic fluid circuits. Also, the valve can be made from biocompatible materials.
